This Hart and Home was birthed out of my need to create beautiful and functional spaces in my home without breaking the bank; all while working a full time job.

A little about me: I am a native Jamaican now living and working in the North East. I am an engineer by training, currently working in corporate America. I enjoy red wine, self help books (because we are all perfectly imperfect), travelling to new countries, Thai food and all things DIY.

Last year I purchased my first home. It was a bit of a fixer upper which was both exciting and slightly terrifying, BUT I do like a good design challenge. While renovating my home, I learned quite a bit along the way that I thought, hey I bet there’s another DIY-er out there who might want to hear about my experience. So here I am, bringing you my victories and losses as I take on this new chapter of my life.
