Life Update

Big Announcement! If you’ve been following along on my Instagram, you’ll know that after over 10 years in New England, I made the decision to move down south for some Southern hospitality.

The process of moving across country can be daunting and expensive, so I spent weeks trying to find reasonably priced companies to help make my move seamless without breaking the bank. I finally decided on using U-Haul U-Box. There rates were reasonable, and the shipping times worked well with my timeline (also note, my local U-Haul staff was super helpful throughout this process). I packed up all my belongings in a U-Haul shipping box and said goodbye. The process was super easy; the only thing I had to worry about was when to have my U-Box delivered to my new address.

Since I was moving in the middle of a very competitive real estate market, my plan was to rent for the first six months while looking for a place to purchase. Little did I know, just how competitive the market was. I found many beautiful houses that I liked, but just couldn’t win. My six months in the rental was looking like a year at minimum. Finally, I came across a brand-new development in a very nice community and the rest is history (lol). No but really, I saw the community and decided that I was going to do whatever it took to purchase a home there. A month later I was picking out finishes for my future home.

It’s been a little over six months now since I’ve moved into my new home and I’m even more grateful today than the day I closed. I have big design plans for my home, and I am excited to share it all as I go. Looking forward to the journey ahead. Follow along as I turn my builder grade house into my home.
